WINDWAZE

An innovative and unique wind monitor, showing the compass direction and speed of the wind.

“Know the wind - sleep peacefully!”

A smarter way to monitor the wind

Windwaze measures compass wind direction independently of the boat’s heading. By combining ultrasonic wind sensor technology with an electronic compass, it delivers precise, real-time wind data without mechanical wear.

Key features

  • Ultrasonic wind measurement for high accuracy

  • Compass wind direction regardless of bow orientation

  • Wind speed alarm

  • True compass heading

  • No moving parts – maintenance free

  • Extremely low power consumption

THE APP

All functionality and user interaction are provided through the Windwaze smartphone app.

In “Moored” mode, the app displays instantaneous wind data directly from the sensor.

In “Underway” mode, the app calculates true compass wind by taking the yacht’s movement into account, based on position data from the phone. A 60-second running average is used to smooth the movement data and provide a more stable calculation of the true wind speed and direction.

MAP VIEW

See where your yacht is pointing — not just where it is.

WindWaze shows your yacht’s actual heading, something GPS alone cannot do without the yacht being in motion.

The red arrow shows wind direction, while the averaged wind speed is displayed at the bottom.

Designed for peace of mind at anchor

A sudden wind shift in the middle of the night can turn a peaceful anchorage into a concern.

Windwaze continuously monitors wind direction and strength and alerts you only when conditions change beyond your chosen limits — so you can rest undisturbed and react when it truly matters.

…or moored

When moored to shore with the anchor set, you can use the Heading value to monitor the yacht's orientation. If the wind shifts and increases, a constant heading indicates that the anchor is holding. This allows you to keep an eye on the yacht's position even when you are below deck or resting in your bunk.

Additional advantage

When anchored or moored, you can switch off your navigation systems to save battery power. Windwaze continues operating autonomously, keeping you connected to live wind conditions.

Note the distinction: Forecasts uses models to predict what should happen; WindWaze uses reality to tell you what is happening.
